SuperSaver is Coming!

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder about the schedule for this week:

  • Everything Tuesday and Wednesday is the same.
  • The school will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving
  • Friday and Saturday are our SUPERSAVER event, and will be normal schedule with the following adjustments:
    • FRIDAY AFTERNOON’S SPARRING CLASS at 5:30 is open to ALL KIDS Orange belt and higher.
    • FRIDAY EVENING’S ADULT GROUP CLASS will be a street clothes self-defense class, open to all Adult and Teen students as well as total beginners, so if you or someone you know would like to try it out, please come on Friday at 7 PM!  Please DO NOT wear a uniform!
    • There will be NO GROUP CLASSES on SATURDAY MORNING. Privates will run as usual.

If you haven’t already scheduled a time to talk to us about the SUPERSAVER Specials running this Friday and Saturday, let us know so we can let you know what is happening with that.  Even if you are out of town, we can schedule a phone conference.  If you need to schedule a make-up private or will be out of town, please also let us know.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and we look forward to seeing you Friday or Saturday!

Ninja Night Details

What is Ninja Night?

If you were here for last year’s you already know the answer, but in case you weren’t here, Ninja Night is an all-out, super-fun party for our kids!

What do the kids do at Ninja Night?

We do all kinds of contests, games, pumpkin decorating, nerf gun wars, have a pizza dinner and frozen yogurt for dessert, watch a kid-appropriate movie (any suggestions out there?) and in general have a blast!

Do parents need to be involved?

Nope, take the night off and go catch a movie or have a Friday night date!  We have plenty of help, so no need for you to stick around.

Should the kids wear their gis/Halloween costumes?

They can wear what they would like, although I would recommend not wearing anything that would be a problem moving around in or spilling something on since we’ll be active and have food and drinks.

Here’s the plan:

  • Friday, October 25th, from 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM. You are welcome to stay for the whole thing, or if you can only attend part of it, that’s fine as well!
  • To help defray costs, entry is $40. If you bring a family member or non-karate friend, they can attend for 1/2 price.
  • Last year, we maxed out our space, so this year we unfortunately have to set a limit of 36 kids. Make sure to register yourself (and your friend or sibling) early!

I will be handing out cards to collect information for all attendees starting next week, but you can get your child registered early by emailing or calling the school, or by filling out the form below.  We are looking forward to seeing you there!

If you are not ready to register yet, keep reading

About the Tournament

We hold Tournaments all around the West Coast, but this is the only one each year that happens in the Northwest. It is an opportunity to try out your martial arts skills with other people and propel your personal growth, and is essentially our “recital.”

Kenpo Lineage Association

associationnewsletter

A lot of people have been asking me about the Kenpo Lineage Association, so I wanted to get some information about it out to you.

Of course, the most obvious question is “What is it?”

But before I answer that, let me back up a step and tell you a little about it from my perspective. There are all kinds of events that happen in the martial arts world, and I am fortunate to be part of an organization that believes in the value of not only the classes and regular dojo experiences, but also those “out of the ordinary” things that can inspire a student (or instructor for that matter) and help bring them to the next level. This kind of thinking provides the opportunity to be part of a community through local, regional, and even national events. While many people choose not to take part in them, they are still out there, and those that want to grow beyond the four walls of their own dojo find that there is a real community out there connected under the Z-Ultimate umbrella.
